UWA O-Day and International Women's Week

Hi everyone!

2011 has started off with a bang! So far the Robogals team have been very busy attending fairs. In February the committee set up a stall for The University of Western Australia's Orientation Day, better known as O-Day to its students. The bright red stall featured a 'life-sized' robot, popping candy and lots of blue glitter on our fabulous Robogals flyers! The event was a huge success, recruiting over 50 new school volunteers this year. Robogals WA would like to thank MSP Engineering ( for their support and generosity that made this event possible.

In March, we had a sausage sizzle for UWA students one week then the next we celebrated International Women's Week. The volunteers set up a stall on the Oak Lawn of The University of Western Australia with some of their robots on show plus flyers and cans of drinks for sale.

Website Update

Hi everyone! I've been very busy updating this website over the last week. The WA Robogals had their end of year meeting in which we reflected on what we had achieved this year and we discussed goals we'd like to achieve next year.

Robogals Asia Pacific Conference

From the 10th to the 12th of September, representatives of the Perth Robogals team made their way to Sydney for the annual Robogals Asia Pacific Conference. The inspirational event hosted Robogals student volunteers from Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and our newest chapter, New Zealand.

At the conference, better known as SINE (Seminar Initiating New Executives), the volunteers attended LEGO robotic workshops, a brainstorming class with a guest speaker, presentations from Marita Cheng (the founder of Robogals) plus much more.

More information coming soon!
