Training workshops! |
We have had a lot of interest from schools recently asking about what we do, and if we could come and do a robotics workshop at their school. Because of the increase in interest we're looking for new volunteers that we can train to use the robots! It's really fun, and we'll be able to keep you in touch with our upcoming schools visits and how you can help! To find out more information, our facebook page can be found here! If you're from a school and would like us to come in and enlighten the girls to the wonders of engineering, simply contact us. |

Australia & New Zealand SINE 2011 |
From Friday 23rd until Tuesday 27th of September, 38 female and 6 male students gathered at the University of Adelaide, South Australia, for the annual Robogals AU/NZ SINE conference. It's a big weekend where all the chapters within Australia and New Zealand come together to share and discuss all things Robogals, and more importantly, new executive committee members are brought up to speed with how Robogals works. |

| A sausage sizzle was found to be a great way to raise money for Robogals this year. In late October of 2010 Robogals volunteers served up delicious hot dogs to hungry university students on the Oak Lawn of The University of Western Australia. The fundraiser was a huge success with the proceeds going towards making Robogals WA bigger and better than ever. | |

Australia & New Zealand SINE 2010 |
| Selected girls from Robogals WA's committee recently attended the Australia & New Zealand Seminar Initiating New Executives (SINE) Conference. SINE was held in Sydney in September for 4 days. Representatives from all over Australia and from new chapters in New Zealand attended the conference which was directed by Robogals' founder, Marita Cheng. During the conference, the girls from the Perth team were given lessons and information applicable to their roles in the committee. There was also a robotics lesson and a trip to Google. The Perth team won awards for 2010 for Most Facebook Fans and Best Publicity. | |

| In March of 2010 the Robogals were invited to take part in Scitech's Science Awareness week. The team took a trip to Kalgoorlie to set up a stall. The kids that attended the expo were delighted and intrigued by the Robogals stall. They were dazzled by the LEGO Mindstorm robots and the Robogals were informative and helpful when the children asked them questions about engineering. During the course of the three days the girls attended the expo, they made an impact on hundreds of students. | |
